As a VIP Tour guide of Disneyland and California Adventure, I use a lot of tricks I've figured out over the 1000 times I've been to the Disneyland Resort to save my guests time and to help them get more enjoyment out of their Disney Parks day. Here I will be sharing tips and tricks regularly, but each tip will replace the tip posted previously, so if you want to see them all, you'll need to view this page often.
Tip: For World of Color, you'll need to get a FP (more of a ticket and doesn't interfere with getting other FPs) for guaranteed viewing in either Blue or Yellow Sections. If it's a busy day, you should get your FP in the morning, earlier the better. They are distributed by the Little Mermaid ride between that and Grizzly River Rapids. Try to get the Blue section. Half of the blue is distributed first, then half the yellow, then the other half of the blue then yellow. If you manage to get blue (often if you get yellow, you can ask the CM to exchange for blue—ask nicely and they often will do it), this is what I recommend. There are several places I recommend. If you’re willing to line up early, like an hour early, you can get a great view from the bridge to Pixar Pier or at the rail, and I mean right at the rail with no one in front of you, in each level. Keep in mind the closer you are to the water the more likely you are to get wet, so if we want to get wet, get the level at the front right by the water. However, if you want a great view without lining up early or getting wet, get your spot near the back by the garbage cans and the fire hydrant at the entrance to the walkway to the lower sections. You won’t get wet here, because you’re at the back. You’ll have a panoramic view of the show, and there’s no one standing in front of you at your level. The VIP, sitting section, is in front of you and the lower levels, neither of which will interfere with your view.
