Food & Wine Festival Review at Disney California Adventure

The annual Food and Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure began on February 28, 2020. Like in years past Disney is offering a Sip and Savor pass for $56 ($51 for annual passholders) that includes 8 tabs to be used for all food and non-alcoholic beverages. It's best to use these tabs for the higher priced meals (at least $7 for regular price and at least $6.40 for AP price) and pay with cash for the less expensive items.

I tried the following food options: Shrimp and Braised Corn with Chorizo from Off the Cob; French Onion Grilled Beef Tenderloin Slider from Cluck-A-Doodle-Moo; Black Garlic Soy-braised Pork Belley Banh Mi & Carbonara Garlic Mac & Cheese with Nueske's Bacon from Garlic Kissed; Asian-style Bee Barbacoa Street Tacos from LA Style; and Tortilla-cursted Fried Guacamole with Carne Asada. The tacos were my favorite, but the slider was tender and delicious, but there were no condiments on it other than some mayo type substance. It was quite plain. The fried guacamole was too spicy for my taste, and the amount of Carne Asada made it difficult to even taste it. Only 3 small shrimp came with the braised corn. In the past there's been at least 5 pieces of shrimp. I was disappointed. The portions are small with this festival, but that overly so. The rest of the items were very good. These offerings are about quality not quantity, so the taste is usually supurb. The only thing I didn't like was the guacamole because of the spice, but the spice is what might be what others love--my youngest daughter sure would.
